Literal Meaning

 He is not informed.

Origin

This is an old maxim which is used in modern times. This maxim is interpreted by many jurists in many cases and precedents.

Explanation

Latin: he is not informed; he have not been instructed. The name of a species of judgment by default, which is entered when the defendant’s attorney announces that he is not informed of any answer to be given by him; usually in pursuance of a previous arrangement between the parties.
