India Is The Only Country Where Health Is Taken For Granted: SC

The Hon’ble two-judge bench of the Hon’ble Supreme Court comprising of Hon’ble justice Indira Banerjee and Hon’ble justice MR Shah while hearing a plea for anticipatory bail concerning an FIR for the sale of sub-standard quality of grain under section 272, 273, 420, and 34 of the Indian penal code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as “IPC, 1860”). These sections deal with adulteration of food or drink that is intended for sale, sale of noxious food or drink, cheating, criminal act respectively observe that this is the only country where health concern is the least in the priority list. 

The observation of the Hon’ble court may also be proven true by the very provision of punishment in the IPC, 1860 for adultery. It is to be noted that the punishment prescribed in the IPC, 1860 under sections 272 and 273 is fine or imprisonment that may extend to six months or both.

Concerning the plea for anticipatory bail that approached the Hon’ble Supreme Court, it has already been rejected in the Hon’ble High court of Madhya Pradesh.
