The suit of defamation was filed by actor Chetan Kumar before the Hon’ble city civil court against the Karnataka labour minister seeking Rs. 1 as damages in Bengaluru.

The Hon’ble Additional city civil and Hon’ble session Judge while hearing the suit directed that before passing an order it is necessary to hear the other side also.

The prayer sought to be Kumar are-

  1. Direction directing the defendant to pay to the plaintiff the sum of Rs. 1 or such other sum as this court deems fit.
  2. Direct Defendant to post/publish a complete and unconditional apology to Plaintiff in his tweet for having posted a portion of the defamatory statement.
