Public Interest Litigation Before Supreme Court To Cancel 12th Boards

A petition has been filed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court to cancel ICSE, CBSE 12th boards. This public interest litigation has been filed by Advocate Mamta Sharma who sought directions for nullifying the Notification dated 14th,16th, and 19th of  April this year issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination ( ICSE) concerning the clauses that deals with the postponement of Class XII examination.

The advocate took this step seeing the ongoing criticality because of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.

The petition has sought direction from the Centre, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, and the Central Board of Secondary Education.

A similar direction has been requested last year by the petitioner in the case of Amit Bathla & Anr. Versus. CBSE & Ors. (2020), similar circumstances caused because of this deadly Covid-19 pandemic in India.

It was requested on the ground of hardship that a student had to go.
