The Supreme Court was of the recent observation that the vacancy positions of 62% and 70% of male and female doctors or attendants especially in the District Hospital of Sambhal were an extremely disturbing scenario. This observation was made by the bench of Justices MM Sundresh and SK Kaul who while considering the Special leave petition that was assailing Allahabad High Court’s order which was dated September 9, 2021, in which it was refusing to grant bail to Hazi Mushahid who was accused of murdering two ladies whilst armed.

The bench that judged on January 18, 2022, had directed the State to cross-verify the reasons for the absence of any and all Surgeons in the District Hospital.
