Both Tiwari and Daga were arrested late last night and presented before a CBI judge

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Mumbai lawyer Anand Daga and Sub-Inspector Abhishek Tiwari on suspicion of leaking a document related to the ongoing investigation into former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

The CBI requested seven-day detention for both Daga and Tiwari today. Advocate Tanveer Ahmed Mir, who is representing Daga before the CBI Court, expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that he has yet to receive a copy of the FIR. Mir has asked for a copy of the arrest memo as well.

The CBI’s counsel stated that a copy would be provided as soon as possible. He also stated that a search warrant existed, which he described as a classified document.

Santosh Singh Bharthwal, a legal assistance lawyer, represented SI Tiwari. According to the CBI counsel, Abhishek Tiwari was involved in a plot with accused parties, case-related materials were leaked, and he received illicit gratification as a result.

Tiwari and Daga were both detained late last night and appeared in front of a CBI judge this evening.
