About the Job :
A leading full-service law firm is expanding its presence across key Indian markets and is looking to strengthen its Taxation practice by bringing on board an accomplished Partner – Direct Tax to establish and grow its Direct Tax practice in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
The opportunity is open to experienced professionals from leading law firms, Big Four consulting firms and reputed CA firms who have a strong technical foundation in direct taxation, demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to develop client relationships and drive business growth
Eligibility :
*15–20 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax.CA and/or LL.B. qualification from a reputed institution; dual qualification would be an advantage.
*Experience with a reputed law firm, Big Four consulting firm or leading CA firm.
*Strong expertise in direct tax advisory, transaction structuring, international taxation and tax litigation.
*Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships, originate mandates and build a sustainable practice; an existing portable practice would be preferred.
*Excellent leadership, communication, commercial and team management skills.
Responsibility :
*Lead and develop the Direct Tax practice, establishing a strong presence across the identified locations.
*Advise domestic and international clients on direct tax planning, tax structuring, cross-border transactions, M&A tax, inbound and outbound investments, reorganisations and tax due diligence.
*Handle complex domestic and international tax advisory mandates, including transfer pricing, treaty interpretation, GAAR, POEM and other emerging tax issues.
*Lead tax litigation and controversy matters before the Income Tax Authorities, CIT(A), ITAT, High Courts and the Supreme Court.
*Build and expand a client portfolio through business development, client relationship management and the origination of new mandates.
*Collaborate with other practice groups to develop integrated client solutions and cross-practice opportunities.
