Delhi HC asked Delhi Police in case of FIR lodged against Indian associated with Tablighi Jamaat

Many advocates recently filed a plea in the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court’s decision to resume physical hearing at a large scale. The four main lawyers of this petition are Advocates Kartik Nayar, Nancy Roy, Sanchit Jolly, and Amit Bhagat. The petition was highly against the Delhi High Court’s order to start physical hearings on every alternate day starting from the 18th of January. More than 500 lawyers opposed the notification by the High Court by signing a digital form to continue with virtual hearings. There was also no option to choose virtual sessions thereby compelling advocates to appear in person. The plea stated that if there is physical hearing then all the High Court staff and lawyers would be subject to a congested work environment. Due to the ongoing pandemic, there is a possibility of a spread of the virus in the Courtroom even with all the safety precautions.
