Mumbai Sessions Court of Friday allowed the pre-arrest bail of Republic TV COO Priya Mukherjee. She is one of the accused in the TRP (Television Rating Points) Scam registered by Mumbai Police.
Court allowed Mukherjee’s Bail on a bond of Rs. 50,000 and asked her to appear in police station every week. Before this she was granted transit bail of 20 days from Karnataka High Court after which she approached the appropriate forum for relief.
In December itself the Sessions Court granted Bail to Republic TV’s Assistant Vice-President Ghanshyam Singh who was also arrested in the same case.
However, the petitioners in their application alleged that the investigation in the Fake TRP Scam case is a witch hunt targeted at petitioners for its criticism of the government.
