Mathura Civil Court has decided to hear the plea on Krishna Janmabhoomi land & removal of the mosque situated adjacent to Krishna Janmabhoomi. The plea seeks ownership of the entire 13.37 acres of land. The matter was scheduled to be heared today but was adjourned due to non-availability of District Judge Sadhna Rani Thakur.
The court admitted the petition seeking to remove the mosque, situated adjacent to Krishna Janmabhoomi and also refused to admit a suit to remove an Idgah “built on Krishna Janmabhoomi”. The court dismissed the plea for the same.
The suit states that it was the fault of Mughal Ruler Aurangzeb who demolished the Krishna Temple built at the “birthplace of Lord Shree Krishna at Katra Keshav Dev, Mathura, in the year 1669-70 AD” and built Mosque in place of it.
The suit was filed by advocate Vishnu Jain, citing a bar under the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991.
