Delhi HC Direct Legal Sites To Block Judgment Of American Citizen Under Right To Be Forgotten

Hon’ble Delhi high court ordered legal sites such as Indian Kanoon, Google LLC, and vLex.in. to remove the judgment of the American citizen. It is to be noted that because of the presence of that judgment on the internet his career was getting jeopardize although he was acquitted in that case. Hence he filed a petition in the court requesting to order the Hon’ble court to block the concerning judgment.

The petitioner visited India in the year 2009 and got arrested under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, but got acquitted in the trial court. Further, the division bench of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court also upheld his acquittal.

After going back to the United States, the petitioner pursued law but was facing a problem because the judgment delivered by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court was available on Google and other sites which were accessible to any potential employer and thus was getting rejected because of his history.
