Justice Virendra Kumar Srivastava, a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court, passed away due to Covid-19. Justice Srivastava sat at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. A quick recap of Justice Srivastava’s background: 

In 1986, Justice Virendra Kumar Srivastava obtained a Law degree and, in 1988, he completed post-graduate studies. Moreover, in 2005, Justice Srivastava appointed to the Higher Judicial Services. In 2016, Justice Srivastava elevated to District and Sessions Judge. 

Further, Justice Srivastava served as the Principal Secretary (Legislative) from September 20, 2016, to November 21, 2018. Also, Justice Srivastava appointed as the Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court in November 2018. By November 2020, Justice Srivastava’s post made permanent. 

Lastly, two other Delhi Court Judges succumbed to Covid-19 infections recently. Due to the virus, Kovai Venugopal was a Family Court Judge in Delhi, passed away last week after being on leave for seven days. Also, after a week of ventilator support, Metropolitan Magistrate Kamran Khan gave in on Tuesday. April 18 reported as the date of his last virtual hearing.
