Karnataka HC grants bail to Sanjjanaa Galrani in Sandalwood drug case

While allowing the bail application, a division bench of Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar has granted bail to Kannada actor Sanjjanaa Galrani on the medical grounds.

While allowing the bail application, a division bench of Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar has granted bail to Kannada actor Sanjjanaa Galrani on the medical grounds. 

The bail was granted to her subject to execution of a personal bond of Rs. 3 lakhs and two sureties of like amount. The bench also said that she has to mark her attendance twice every month with the probe agency and has to co-operate with the investigating agency. 

Actor Sajjanaa Galrani was arrested on 8th September, while Actor Ragini Dwivedi was arrested on 4th September. Both the actors along with other accused persons were arrested in the ‘Sandalwood Drugs case’ under Section 120b of IPC (criminal conspiracy) and under Sections 21, 21C, 27A, 27B & 29 of Narcotic Drugs & psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Earlier on November 3, the High Court had denied a bail application filed by the Actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjana Galrani. And has directed to conduct medical checkup to the actor by Vanivilas Hospital Doctors and update her health condition and also directed to submit the report.
