KT Jaleel Minister of Kerala moves to HC against the Lokayukta order charging him with nepotism

Kerala’s Higher Education and Minority Welfare Minister KT Jaleel has changed the criteria against the Kerala Lok Adalat report for giving government appointment to his second cousin by accusing him of nepotism, misuse of power and favoritism in the Kerala Lok Adalat .

Particularly under challenge is paragraph 54 of the said report, comprising Justices Syriac Joseph (former Supreme Court judge) and Harun-ul-Rashid (former High Court judge), stating that a member of the Council of Jalil Cannot continue as ministers due to allegations against him.

Filing his petition through Advocate PC Sasidharan, the minister alleged that the Lokayukta finalized its report solely on the basis of oral arguments of the parties.

Among other prayers, the minister announced to the court that the Lokayukta found that the petitioner had violated the abuse of power, favoritism, nepotism and that the violation of the oath of office was not based on any material evidence and of any investigation.
