About the Job :
SM Legal Advocates & Solicitors is hiring a Senior Associate with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax for its Kolkata office, focusing on tax litigation, advisory, legal research, drafting, and court proceedings.
Eligibility :
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience exclusively in the tax domain.
• Experience in GST, Service Tax, Customs, and Excise.
• LL.B., B.A. LL.B., or B.B.A. LL.B. from a recognised institution.
• Exposure to litigation and dispute management
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• Enrolled with the Bar Council, with West Bengal preferred.
• Enrolled with the Bar Council, with West Bengal preferred.
Responsibility :
• Handle complex indirect tax matters.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Managing litigation and dispute-related matters
• Supporting regulatory and compliance requirements
• Providing legal advisory to cross-functional teams
• Handling trademark prosecution and commercial contract management
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders on legal matters
