Non jus, sed seisina facit stipitem

Non jus, sed seisina facit stipitem

Literal Meaning

Not right, but seisin makes a stock (from which the inheritance must descend).

This is an old maxim which is used in modern times. This maxim is interpreted by many jurists in many cases and precedents.

/non jas sed siyzana feysat stipatam/ Not right, but seisin, makes a stock. It is not a mere right to enter on lands, butactual seisin, which makes a person the root or stock from which all future inheritance by right of blood must be derived.
