It matters not what is known to the judge if it is not known judicially.
This is an old maxim which is used in modern times. This maxim has been interpreted by many jurist in different cases and precedents.
Non-refert Quid Notum Sit Judici, si Notum Non Sit in Forma judicii is a legal maxim, used in India, with the following meaning: It matters not what is known to the judge, if it be known judicially. No Judge should import his private knowledge of the facts into a case.
