Only matters that demand immediate attention will be looked at by the Delhi HC

Monitoring the recent surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the National Capital, the High Court of Delhi ordered the judges to up only those matters which require immediate attention and filed in 2021.

The Court added that the remaining pending matters filed before the Delhi HC between March 22, 2020, and December 31, 2020, that don’t require immediate attention could be put to a standstill and adjourned “en bloc”. 

Moreover, on Sunday, a circular to this effect issued by the High Court and would come into effect from April 19, 2021. Further, regarding the pending matters, if those cases face an emergency, a request over the notified circulated link is the route.  

Lastly, four judges of the Delhi High Court accompanying the Chief Justice have tested positive for the virus. With this, the Court is undertaking the hearings of various matters solely through a virtual model.
