Supreme Court will hear tomorrow two petitions against Andhra Pradesh Government’s press conference wherein CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy revealed that he had written a letter to Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, making allegations against Supreme Court Judge NV Ramana.
A bench of Justice UU Lalit will be hearing the matter on Monday, i.e.; November 16.
One petition is filed by Advocate GS Mani underlying the importance of the independence and integrity of the judiciary. He also contended that Sitting CM has no authority to hold his office as he is misusing the same.
And the second petition was filed by Advocate-on-record Mukti Singh, seeking to stop such press briefings by the Chief Minister against judges and to issue a show-cause notice to him as to why suitable action should not be taken against him.
