Our Constitution of India gives the right to each and every citizen of India “the right to protest’. Looking at the recent laws and responses of citizens on it, Senior Advocates of Supreme Court HS Phoolka, Rajiv Khosla, and others gathered outside the court in support of farmers who were agitating against the new Farmers law. They said that the demands of the farmers are valid and the government should accept these demands. Senior Advocate Phoolka also said that- “the farmer belongs to political parties is an irresponsible statement and even many farmers are from my own village.”
They condemned the action which was taken by the Haryana Government on Sunday i.e. of blocking their way to Delhi by using barricades, use of water cannon on them and also ordering lathicharge.
Senior lawyer Rajiv Khosla ho was also in support of farmer’s “Dili Chalo Andolan” said that the government is conspiring to break the justice system. He also ensured that there will be meeting in the Bar to decide the all India agitation by Bar members. Further, he said, the government will only give justice to those they want through their puppets ADMs and SDMs, whom they have given power to act. Khosla had earlier written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the context of the jurisdiction of civil courts which had been taken out from the new farm bill. He had said the bill is more damaging to lawyers and litigants.
The move for “Dilli Chalo” came after the Farmer’s Bill was passed. In the agitation, the farmers mostly from Punjab & Haryana gathered in the capital city demanding for the law to be taken back.
