CJM allows cops to question Arnab Goswami in Taloja Prison

A division bench led by Justice S S Shinde and M S Karnik has concluded that the orders on the Interim Bail Application of Journalist Arnab Goswami along with other two accused in the 2018 abetment to suicidal case will be pronounce tomorrow at 3 PM.

The Bench of the Bombay High Court had yesterday (Saturday) a special sitting held from 12 noon to 6PM to hear the case. And the counsels for the co-accused in the matter are Advocate Vijay Agarwal and Advocate Nikhil Mengde.

Earlier, Senior Advocates Harish Salve & Abad Ponda made strong submissions seeking ad-interim bail for Goswami but the court has refused to grant the bail. The Bench remarked that if such an application is made, the court ordered, the same should be decided by the concerned court within 4 days of the filing.

The Bench has also clarified that the pendency of the case in the High Court will not be an impediment for the petitioners to seek regular bail under Section 439 of the CrPC before the concerned court.
