10 Judicial officers elevated as Additional Judges of Madras High Court

Madras HC takes Cognizance on alleged Sexual harassment case on Woman IPS Officer

On Tuesday, the Central Government issued two notifications for appointment Judicial Officers as Additional Judges to the Madras High Court.

In the first notification, it is intimated that the following Judicial Officers shall be the Additional Judges;

  • Govindarajulu Chandrasekharan
  • AA Nakkiran
  • Veerasamy Sivagnanam
  • Ganesan Ilangovan
  • Ananthi Subramanian

All of the above mentioned Judicial Officers will assume their offices for period of two years. Except Ms. Subramanian who is appointed till 30th July 2022.

In the second notification, it is intimated that the following Judicial Officers shall be the Additional Judges;

  • Kannammal Shanmuga Sundaram
  • Sathi Kumar Sukumara Kurup
  • Murali Shankar Kuppuraju
  • Manjula Ramaraju Nalliah
  • Thamilselvi T. Valayapalayam


All of the above-mentioned Judicial Officers will assume their offices for a period of two years. Except for Ms. Kannammal Shanmuga Sundaram who is appointed till 19th July 2022.
Pursuant to the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium vide Resolution dated September 23, 2020 decision is made.
