2017 double murder case convicts get life imprisonment

The court of additional sessions judge Jagdeep Singh Marokconvicted two individuals while acquitting four of them in a double murder case of a couple, they were under sections 302 (murder), 397 (robbery, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), 449 (house-trespass in order to commit offence punishable with death), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and a few sections of the Arms Act.

A wireless complaint was received by the SHO of Dugripolice station, when the SHO reached the scene of crime, he saw two clean shaven persons who had shot one of the deceased, they could not be held and fled away.

The accused after being arrested and produced in court pleaded false implication while his counsel stated that since the confession was made to the police, it is not admissible and the allegation of involvement of the individual in the crime is baseless.

The court was still convinced of his involvement in the crime, given the circumstantial evidence and sentenced both the accused to life imprisonment.
