An Advocate appeared shirtless for a video conferencing of the Sudarshan TV case on Monday. Several Top Court Judges were in state of shock. As Justice D.Y Chandrachud who preside the bench asked about who the judge was during the hearing, there was no response.

This was not the first time such incident took place. As the court hearings including the Apex court is conducted online, court officials are found breaking decorum time and again in such online hearings with their carelessness and unprofessional attitude.
In one such incident, Senior Advocate Rajeev Dhavan was seen smoking during such virtual hearing. A penalty of Rs.10,000/- was imposed by the High Court of Gujarat on an advocate.
In another case, a lawyer of the High court of Rajasthan appeared in an online bail hearing in a vest, the court said, “This court has already observed during this pandemic where court functioning is being done through video conferencing, lawyers must appear in proper uniform keeping in view that the petitioner’s counsel was not in a proper uniform, the matter is adjourned.”
According to the provision of the Advocates Act, lawyers are required to appear before the court in prescribed manner, court noted.
