Madras HC takes Cognizance on alleged Sexual harassment case on Woman IPS Officer

On 21st march 2020 Minister of Law, Courts and Prisons, Tamil Nadu C. Shanmugam has made a statement of providing Apple iPad pro electronic devices to the judges of Madras High Court. Adding with a sum of 3000/- Rupees will be provided to the young lawyers.

Key Pointes

1. The Minister of law has announced a budget of Rupees 80.3/- Lakhs has been allotted to provide all the judges in the High Court with Apple iPads including Apple pencil and keyboard case for the iPad.

2. Currently the number of judges in the High Court is 60[i].

3. All the young advocates in the state of Tamil Nadu will receive stipend of Rupees 3,000/- every month for a period of two years.

4. The Government looks forward to increase advocate clerks welfare fund from Rupees 200,000/- to Rupees 400,000/-.

5. The Minister also announced renovation of heritage buildings and construction of new courts in nammakal, dharampuri, ranipet, kallakurichi, dindigul, pudukottai, and tiruvallur districts of Tamil Nadu[ii].
