Swami Om, a contestant in the reality show, Bigg Boss, filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the appointment of the current Chief Justice.

A bench consisting of Justice J S Khehar and D Y Chandrachud were of the opinion that this petition was filed as a popularity stunt and that this petition should have been filed much earlier.
