The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court recently called on a station house officer of the Vasmatnagar police station to procure the ‘latest bare acts’ of various criminal laws to stock up at the Vasmanagar station.
The order issued by the bench of Justice Ravindra V Ghuge and BU Debadwar makes an indicative list of bare acts to be procured by the officer.
The order was issued after the station house officer failed to respond to some questions submitted by the court in January. For his failure, the court summoned an officer in court in March and directed him to withdraw Rs 10,000 from his salary.
The prosecution informed the court that the fax machine at the Vasmatnagar station was not functioning and was not aware of the queries sent to the court in January, the court decided to withdraw its order directing deposit of Rs 10,000 and its Rather urged the officer to procure bare acts.
In the court, the officer offered to donate an amount of Rs 2500 to the High Court Bar Library in Aurangabad. However, the Court took the view that the officer should procure bare acts for the police station.
