CBI scrutiny must on the allegations against Anil Deshmukh: Param Bir Singh

Dr Jaishri Laxmanrao approached the Bombay High Court concerning the Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh and the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh. Dr Jaishri requests the court to appoint the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or any independent agency to look into this matter.

The plea filed before the court indicated that Anil Deshmukh should not hold the Maharashtra Home Minister position for being deceitful. Further, the reason behind such a remark placed on the material that threw light on how Anil Deshmukh ordered officers to extract money from the citizens through abuse of his power.

Moreover, reliance placed on the letter written by Param Bir Singh to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, that stated the way Anil Deshmukh involved with the police investigations followed by the instructions given to the officers regarding the procedure pursued while investigating. Lastly, as per the letter, Deshmukh asked a police officer to acquire approximately 2-3 lakh rupees from several bars and restaurants across Mumbai to meet the monthly target of 40-50 crore rupees.
