Chief Justice SA Bobde recommends the name of Justice NV Ramana for the next Chief Justice

Chief Justice of India SA Bobde has recommended the name of Justice NV Ramana for the next Chief Justice. The second senior judge of the SC, Justice Ramana, assumed office on 17 February, 2014. His tenure will end on 26 August, 2022. Justice Ramana started as a lawyer in the Andhra Pradesh High Court in February 1983.

He worked as a panel lawyer for various government organizations.

He has also served as an Additional Government Advocate for the Central Government and Government Advocate for Railways at the Central Administrative Tribunal in Hyderabad. He also served as Additional Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh. He was appointed as the Permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on 27 June 2000. He then served as Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court from March 10, 2013 to May 20, 2013. He was promoted as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court from 2 September 2013. CJI Bobde’s term ends on April 23 this year.
