An injunction was put forward in the Supreme Court by the Center seeking to take down a Farmer’s rally planned for the 26th. With information from various sources, the Delhi police said that a tractor rally is planned to disrupt the Republic Day celebrations. In a statement, they said that the right to protest cannot include embarrassing the whole nation globally. This injunction seeks to restrain anyone from conducting any protest march either in the form of tractor march, trolley march, vehicle march. The Delhi police and Center have made precautions by completely blocking seven main routes leading to Delhi. During the recent farm bills case hearing, Attorney General KK Venugopal expressed his concern regarding the tractor rally. Advocate Dushyant Dave, who represents a few Farmers’ unions, assured the Court that there would be no such rally. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta then replied to this by saying that since Mr. Dave does not represent all the farmers, his assurance cannot be taken.
