Authorities Should have a Secular Mind in Religious Matters: Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court received a petition filed by the Hansa Research Group for transferring the investigation related to TRP allegations made on Republic TV from the from the Mumbai police crime branch to the CBI or state CID.

This petition was filed in light of pressure and intimidation tactics being used by Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vazeand his team of Crime Branch, Mumbai. 

In this case, Sachin Vaze, Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh and Chief investigating Officer Prashant Sandbhor have been made respondents along with State. While the appeal is by the Hansa Research Group along with its Director, Narsimhan Swamy and CEO Pravin Nijhara and DGM Nitin Deokar.

The petitioners allege that Sachin Vaze along with his team not only threaten them but also pressurise them to give false statements against the Republic TV. They are being threatened in terms of having their arrest, indefinite detention and seizure of their mobile phones.
