Mega Industrial Development Package of Rs. 28,400 Cr Announced LG of J&K

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha announced the approval of a mega Industrial Development Package worth 28,400 crore rupees by the Government of India.

LG Sinha while addressing the press conference in Jammu said, the Union cabinet sanctioned the great Development Package-2021 for J&K which was need of the hour. The package is concerned with the Industrial sector for which J&K was yearning for a long time. LG Sinha said it is a strong support from the Centre.

LG Sinha further added that the package aims at administering to boost existing industrial sector, creating 4.5 lakh new jobs, setting up new units and at least investment of Rs 20,000 crore. The package will be in force till 2037 i.e., for 17 years.

LG of J&K stated that this is a significant and historic Industrial package for J&K, that will boost the industrial sector and will create employment, and will cover the outside investment as well. With this, he further added that the Government of India once again showed its dedication for Growth, Prosperity, and increasing employment. He also added that the package will be a huge relief to the existing industrialist. It will also cover the service sector that includes the IT sector and Tourism and manufacturing unit as well. The new package will boost the J&K economy.

The LG further stated that the Government running by him was working on long- and short-term projects. The UT of J&K will get its first slot of road connectivity in near future and very soon every village will be connected through the road. He also added the people of J&K will travel in the metro for the first time in 2023. He also added very soon there will be good news in the remaining 18 districts, the committee is inspecting for the restoration of 4-G internet service for the UT.
