Republic TV files defamation suit against Navika Kumar for comments on Arnab Goswami

Republic TV’s parent company ARG Outlier Media Pvt. Ltd has recently filed a suit of defamation against Times Now anchor Navika Kumar for making an allegation against the news channel over the TRP scam. The petition was filed before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, through Advocate Ayush Jindal. The plea alleged that Mrs. Kumar has grossly telecasted defamatory material about Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and the Republic TV on the 18th. The plea further claimed that Mrs. Kumar was jealous of Goswami and her statements were a result of such professional jealousy, and also was to “take advantage of the ongoing deep-seated malice” against the network. The Times Now anchor also accused Mr. Goswami of endangering the nation’s security and leaking state secrets. Republic TV also stated that it has been the target of a “vicious, vindictive and malice driven exercise” by the Maharashtra government and others including the Indian Express and Times Now.
