SC Collegium recommended the appointment of five advocates as judges in three High courts

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of five advocates as judges in the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir. The collegium has proposed the names recommending the appointment of Dr. Vivek Sharan, Nidhi Patankar, and Prannoy Verma as judges in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Recommendation to appoint Advocate Vikas Bahl as Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Recommendation to appoint advocate Rahul Bharti as Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court. In addition, the collegium reiterated its recommendation for: Advocate Nagendra Ramachandra Naik’s recommendation to be appointed as a judge of the Karnataka High Court. Recommendation to appoint Viju Abraham, CP Muhammad Nias and Paul KK as judges of Kerala High Court. Recommendation to appoint Advocate Satyen Vaidya as Judge of Himachal Pradesh High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium first recommended the appointment of Advocate Nagendra Ramchandra Naik as Judge of the Karnataka High Court in October 2019. 

The appointment of advocate Satyen Vaidya as Himachal Pradesh High Court judge was recommended in April 2019.
