Supreme Court issues notice in light of unauthorised sharing of virtual hearing links

Approach of Art.136 Cannot Be Adopted While Deciding Petitions by The High Court Under Art.227: SC

The SC in light of mischief played by advocates on record (AOR) during virtual hearings has issued a circular against AORs sharing links of the court hearings in an unauthorised fashion.

In usual parlance of virtual hearings, two appearance links & one viewing link is provided to each litigating party but it has come to the notice of the court that the links are being forwarded to more people than authorised.

The court said that this practice is clearly against the standard operating procedure & was unauthorised & created hindrance in the proceedings of the Court.

The violation of this instruction by the Apex Court will lead to audio and video access of such AORs being prohibited.
